MORE THAN A COACHING TEAM
People shape how an environment feels—and what becomes possible within it.
Present
Curious
Experienced
We pay attention to what is happening now.
We keep questioning, noticing and learning.
We bring knowledge shaped through real practice.
Knowledge and experience matter. But so do care, curiosity, trust and the ability to understand the person in front of you.
Adaptable
Invested
Human
We respond to people rather than following scripts.
We care about development beyond a single session.
We bring personality, honesty and genuine connection.
The strongest coaching relationships are built
when expertise and humanity work together.

FOUNDER AND DEVELOPMENT COACH
Andrew “Jacko” Jackson
More than four decades spent learning how people grow.
Jacko is the founder of Burners Basecamp and the thinking behind its development environments. His work spans athlete development, coach education, events, leadership and organisational change—but it remains grounded in understanding people and helping them become increasingly capable.
His role is not to provide every answer. It is to notice what others may have missed, create the right challenge and help people take greater ownership of what comes next.
THE PEOPLE BEHIND BASECAMP
Different experiences. A shared commitment to growth.

Sam Wilson
Burners Head Coach
A Burners athlete who has grown into a coach and mentor for the next generation. Sam brings creativity, calm authority and a deep understanding of the environment in which he developed.

Libby Young
Developing Coach
Libby brings thoughtful energy, curiosity and a natural ability to connect with people. Her own journey through Basecamp continues to shape the coach she is becoming.

Quim Fontané Masó
Guest Coach
A world-class athlete and experienced coach who brings fresh perspective, exceptional technical understanding and an ability to inspire people at every stage of development.

THE WIDER ENVIRONMENT
Development is supported by more people than we sometimes notice.
Athletes, parents, families, volunteers, guest coaches and community leaders all influence what people experience. Basecamp is strongest when those people understand the environment they are helping to create and recognise the contribution they can make.
Athletes
Families
Coaches
Collaborators
Culture isn’t created by what we say. It’s created by what people repeatedly do.
Everyone inside Basecamp helps shape how it feels. The way we welcome people, respond to challenge, share knowledge and take responsibility determines what the environment becomes.
DEVELOPING OTHERS
The future depends on more people becoming capable of leading it.
Basecamp deliberately creates opportunities for athletes to become mentors, developing coaches to take greater responsibility and experienced people to share what they know. The aim is not to keep knowledge with a few individuals, but to help capability spread.
